Overview of the BayRewards Points Program: Ways to Earn and Redeem Points

With BayRewards, you can encourage your customers to complete specific actions by incentivizing them and adding new ways for them to earn rewards, such as placing an order or for following you on social media, or writing a review

This article will give you a comprehensive understanding of various user actions that allow them to earn points and redeem the earned points.

Configuring ways to earn points on BayRewards

Create ways for your customers to earn points. Set up specific actions and behaviors that will act as criteria for shoppers to earn/accumulate points

Ways to earn points/ Rules to earn points explained:

  • A customer places an order

  • Ordered a specific product

  • Ordered a product with a specific cart value

  • Created an account

  • Celebrating a birthday

  • Celebrating an anniversary

  • Likes your posts on Facebook

  • Follow’s your brand on Instagram

  • Follow’s your brand on Twitter

  • Generates UGC by submitting Site Reviews/Product/Picture Reviews

Navigate the feature In-App: To add rules by which your customer can earn points, navigate to the Points section of your dashboard and click on ‘Add a new rule to earn.’ Select an action/trigger from the list of actions mentioned above. Customize the rule further and click on ‘Create’

Step 1: Navigate to the ‘Points’ feature on the left-hand side menu

Step 2: Click on ‘Add new rule to earn’ option

Step 3: A pop-up with the above-mentioned rules will appear. Choose a rule from the list. For ex: ‘Placed order’ and click on ‘Add rule’

Step 4: Customize the rule further by configuring the following:

(i) Give an appropriate title and description for the rule/action configured to earn reward points. This will be the text displayed to your customers on the widget.

(ii) Determine the number of reward points you wish to offer for the specific action/rule.

*You can offer your shoppers a fixed number of reward points or reward them based on the cost they spend. In order to do so, select a point type, i.e., Fixed or Variable.

  • Variable Points: Specify the units of reward points you wish to offer shoppers for every $1 they spend.

  • Fixed Point: Every customer who places an order receives fixed reward points as configured by you, irrespective of the value of their purchase.

(iii) Set a limit on the number of times your customer's action can enable them to earn rewards in a Day/ Week/ Month/Lifetime.

Note 📒:

If you don’t wish to set a limit, uncheck the tick-box enabling them to earn reward points any number of times that they perform/satisfy the action.

Step 5: After setting up the earning rules, click ‘Create’ at the top left corner of your screen to activate the rule.

Configuring ways to redeem points on BayRewards

Having successfully set up the rules by which your customers can earn points, go ahead and set up rules/ways in which they can redeem these points.

Ways to redeem points/ Rules to redeem points explained:

  • Discount a specific amount

  • Percentage Off

  • Offer free shipping

  • Offer a free product

Ways to redeem:

Navigate the feature In-App: In order to add rules by which your customer can redeem their points, navigate to the ‘Points’ section of your dashboard and click on ‘Add a new reward.’ Select a way in which they can redeem from the list of above. Customize the rule further and click on ‘Create’

Step 3: A pop-up with the abovementioned rules will appear. Choose a rule from the list. For ex: ‘Offer them a Percentage Off’ and click on ‘Add Reward’

Step 4: Customize the rule further by configuring the following:

(i) Give an appropriate title and description for rules for redeeming the points. This will be the text displayed to your customers on the widget.

(ii) Determine the discount value/percentage off equivalent to the reward points. For example - 10% for every 200 reward points.

*Tick the checkbox if you wish to specify the time period after which the reward will no longer be valid/ will expire else, leave it blank.

(iii) Define a minimum order value for which the discount will be valid. Thus, only those customers who place an order above the minimum set value will be able to use the discount.

(iv) You can further specify if you wish to reward your customers with the discount on:

  • On the entire order

  • Or a selected collection

(v) Create a discount/promo code, typically a combination of alphabets and numerics. This code will be distributed to the customers who satisfy the eligibility conditions set, which they can apply at the checkout to claim their rewards

(vi) Set a limit on the number of times your customers can redeem their rewards in a Day/ Week/ Month/Lifetime.
